Council Watch
Council archive
Liverpool City Council's decisions, committee meetings and payments, searchable by year, date, keyword, councillor, committee and supplier. Every entry links to the council's own record. Where a record is missing, the archive says so rather than guessing.

What the archive covers
Each dataset goes back as far as the council's published records allow and as far as we have imported. Dates below are the earliest and latest records we hold, not a claim about when the council began.
Register of decisions
1,185records
15 January 2021 to 13 October 2026
Cabinet and officer decisions as the council publishes them. The register goes back to 2005; Council Watch imports from 1 January 2021.
SourceCommittee meetings
1,261records
7 January 2021 to 15 December 2026
Dates, venues, public agenda items and who was listed or present. The council's records go back to 1999; Council Watch imports from 1 January 2021.
SourcePlanning Committee
100records
13 January 2021 to 15 December 2026
Planning Committee meetings and the applications on their agendas. Applications decided by officers, and the full planning portal, are not imported.
SourcePayments over £500
45months
January 2023 to September 2026
Monthly files. The council keeps three years online, so January 2023 is the earliest it publishes.
SourceContracts
Not imported
Not imported. We could not retrieve contract notices for Liverpool reliably, so none are shown rather than a partial set.
SourceGaps and limits
- Every month since the start has at least one recorded meeting. That does not mean every meeting was recorded.
- No decision is recorded for 2021-05.
- 90 meetings were cancelled, postponed or moved. They stay listed with that status.
- 548 decisions were not taken at a meeting (officer or delegated decisions), so they link to no meeting.
- 25 meetings list no attendees. For the rest, "listed as a member" means the council listed the person but did not record whether they came.
- Only decisions the council put on its public register appear. Many routine officer decisions are not published.
- Confidential (exempt) agenda items and individual licensing cases are never shown.
- Planning items show the street and ward, not house numbers or postcodes. The official agenda has the full address.
- A missing record is not evidence that nothing happened. It means we hold nothing for that date from the council's published files.
How it works: records are imported from the council's public ModernGov system, stored once, and never overwritten once they are more than two months old. Found a mistake or a missing record? Tell us.
