Liverpool School of Plastering is an independent training centre based at Knowsley Industrial Park, offering small-group, hands-on plastering and rendering courses for beginners, DIY enthusiasts and tradespeople.
Training is designed around practical experience rather than classroom-based learning. Learners work in their own dedicated training bay and practise techniques directly, with all tools and materials provided throughout the course.
Courses and training options
The centre provides a range of structured programmes to suit different experience levels and goals:
- Weekday and weekend skimming courses: Intensive short courses covering wall preparation, mixing, application and finishing.
- 5-day and 10-day plastering courses: In-depth practical training taking learners from core fundamentals through to advanced patch repairs, multi-coat work and complex angles.
- Exterior rendering courses: Hands-on instruction in sand-and-cement rendering, modern monocouche techniques and weatherproofing.
- Practical trade skills: Targeted tuition for tradespeople expanding their skillset as well as DIYers tackling home renovation projects.
Course availability varies throughout the year. Current dates and booking information are published directly on the Liverpool School of Plastering website.
Who it suits
Courses are structured to accommodate complete beginners with no prior trade experience, DIY homeowners looking to tackle domestic projects with confidence, and experienced tradespeople wanting to add plastering or rendering to their repertoire.
With small group sizes and individual bays, tuition is tailored closely to each learner’s pace.
