Overview & what to expect

Since its premiere in 1996, Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance has captivated over 60 million people across 60 countries. In 2026, the anniversary production visits the Liverpool Empire with brand-new staging, bespoke lighting design, upgraded soundscapes, and dazzling new costumes.

The touring ensemble features more than 40 of the world's finest young Irish dancers, performing high-precision footwork, ethereal vocal pieces, and theatrical storytelling composed by Gerard Fahy. The narrative pits good against evil in a Celtic mythological spectacle.

The Empire Theatre is one of the largest two-tier auditoriums in Britain, providing an impressive backdrop for Flatley's theatrical pyrotechnics and synchronised step dancing.
