What is happening and travel advice
Work on the £12m Vauxhall Road active travel scheme starts on Wednesday 28 October 2026 with surveys under marked lane closures. The council has not published the exact sections or hours. Later phases will need road closures and signed diversions, and work is expected to continue into 2028.
Affected section: Tithebarn Street to the Sandhills Lane and Lambeth Road junction, including Commercial Road
Source travel advice: Allow extra time and check the council's live roadworks map before travelling. Bus routes 54 and 56 use stops along the corridor, so check Merseytravel service updates too.
