Seel & Slater opens on Seel Street this month, Blank Street is preparing its first Liverpool coffee shop and Junkyard Golf is being transformed into a larger food, drink and entertainment venue. Here are the Liverpool restaurant, café, pub and bar openings confirmed or being tracked for October 2026.

Liverpool's October food and drink openings begin with one of the fastest restaurant changeovers of the year. Wreck Bistro served its final customers on Seel Street on 4 October. Five days later, the building is due to reopen as Seel & Slater, a new restaurant, grill and bar from chef Andrew Sheridan and Open Restaurant Group. The full list of openings and closures is kept on our Liverpool openings tracker.

There are several other openings moving towards launch. Blank Street Coffee has secured its first Liverpool site, Junkyard Golf is becoming the UK's first Junkyard Social Club, and an independent Bootle brewery is preparing to open its first pub in Childwall. Some have firm October dates; others do not.

This page separates the two. An announced venue is not treated as an October opening until there is evidence supporting that timetable.

Seel & Slater opens on Seel Street on 9 October

The clearest October opening is Seel & Slater, which is due to begin serving customers at 60 Seel Street on Friday 9 October.

It replaces Wreck Bistro, the Gary Usher restaurant which occupied the building at the junction of Seel Street and Slater Street. Wreck's final service was Sunday 4 October following the sale of the business to Open Restaurant Group, giving the incoming operator only five days between the two restaurants. The existing Wreck team has been retained through the change of ownership. Wreck Bistro, Liverpool

Seel & Slater is being led by chef Andrew Sheridan alongside Open Restaurant Group's Sam and Emma Morgan. Sheridan already operates Restaurant 8 on Cook Street.

The first part to open will be Seel, a 45-cover restaurant, grill and bar on the upper level. It is scheduled to trade from 8am seven days a week, meaning the building will cover breakfast and brunch as well as lunch, dinner and later drinks. Restaurant Online

The food takes its cues from New York steakhouses and Italian-American restaurants rather than continuing Wreck's British bistro format. Dishes announced before opening include:

  • pastrami doughnut
  • handmade pasta
  • lobster lasagne
  • prime cuts from the grill
  • a dry-aged ribeye called The Don
  • New York cheesecake brûlée

The restaurant's name comes from its position between Seel Street and Slater Street. The property is Grade II listed and has been used as a restaurant for several years, with Wreck operating there after the original Wreckfish opened in 2017. Liverpool Noise

Slater cocktail bar will follow later

The second half of the project will not open on 9 October.

The lower-ground space is being turned into Slater, a cocktail bar influenced by New York jazz clubs and late-night bars of the 1940s. Open Restaurant Group says it will open later in 2026, but an exact date has not yet been announced. Hospitality & Catering News

That means anyone booking during Seel & Slater's first weeks should expect the restaurant and upstairs bar rather than the completed two-floor operation.

Blank Street Coffee is expected at Liverpool ONE this October

Blank Street Coffee is preparing to open its first Liverpool shop at Liverpool ONE.

The coffee company was founded in New York in 2020 and has expanded rapidly across the UK. Its menu includes espresso-based coffee, cold drinks, flavoured lattes, matcha and pastries.

Hospitality trade publication Propel reported in August that Liverpool was scheduled to open in early October, following the company's securing of a purpose-built site at Liverpool ONE. A later report continued to identify Liverpool as an October opening. Propel Info

There is, however, an important qualification.

As of 5 October, Liverpool ONE's own page still describes Blank Street simply as "coming soon" and says that opening-date details are still to be announced. Liverpool ONE

For that reason, we are keeping Blank Street in the October tracker but not assigning it an opening day. The earlier October target may still be met, but the official public date has not yet been published.

Junkyard Social Club is replacing Junkyard Golf later in October

Liverpool ONE's Junkyard Golf Club is undergoing a more substantial change.

The existing 14,000 sq ft venue is being converted into the first Junkyard Social Club, expanding the format beyond crazy golf into a broader bar, food and competitive-socialising venue. Liverpool is the first Junkyard location in the UK to receive the new format. Hospitality & Catering News

Crazy golf remains, but one of the original courses has been removed to create additional space. Plans include:

  • UV karaoke rooms
  • interactive darts
  • pool
  • cornhole
  • arcade machines including Street Fighter and Guitar Hero
  • live entertainment
  • a refreshed bar
  • additional areas for drinking without booking a game

The operator has consistently said the Social Club will launch during October 2026, with more recent Liverpool coverage putting it towards the end of October. Liverpool Noise

There is another useful clue in Junkyard's own trading schedule. The Liverpool venue is currently listed as closed from 19 to 22 October, before trading again from noon on 23 October. That fits with a late-October changeover, although Junkyard has not formally announced 23 October as the Social Club's official launch day, so we are not treating it as confirmed. Junkyard Golf Club

Bunny's Kitchen is making its Liverpool debut inside Junkyard

The Junkyard changes also bring another food opening to Liverpool.

Bunny Jackson's, the Manchester bar known particularly for inexpensive chicken wings, is opening its first operation outside Manchester inside Junkyard Social Club.

The Liverpool kitchen will trade as Bunny's Kitchen. Announced menu items include chicken wings with Buffalo, Nashville Hot and BBQ sauces, beef and chicken burgers, loaded fries, tater tots, mozzarella sticks and onion rings. Its established 50p wing offer is also due to make the move to Liverpool. Food is planned to be available until 10pm each day. Hospitality & Catering News

This is not a separate street-front restaurant. Bunny's Kitchen will sit inside the transformed Junkyard venue beside its new live-performance stage.

That distinction matters for anyone searching for a standalone Bunny Jackson's Liverpool branch. The first Liverpool operation is currently part of Junkyard Social Club.

The Common Time is bringing an independent micropub to Childwall

One of the more locally rooted openings in the pipeline is The Common Time at 157 to 159 Queens Drive, close to Childwall Fiveways.

It will be the first permanent pub from Colbier, the independent brewery founded in Bootle in 2024 by Mike Corbett and Vik Williams.

Colbier describes The Common Time as a community micropub rather than a brewery taproom. Its own beer will feature prominently, but the company also plans to serve guest beers, cider, wine, spirits, alcohol-free drinks and snacks. Colbier

Liverpool City Council licensing records confirm the premises at 157 to 159 Queens Drive. The licence application sought alcohol sales until 11pm, with proposed public opening hours until 11.30pm. Liverpool City Council

The brewery currently says the pub will open in autumn 2026, not specifically October. Recruitment is still under way, with some vacancies carrying a 12 October closing date. That makes an October launch possible, but there is not enough evidence yet to put The Common Time in the confirmed October column.

It stays in this guide because an opening date announcement could arrive during the month.

Murphy's Tavern is adding The Snug in Crosby

Outside Liverpool city proper, Murphy's Tavern in Crosby is expanding during October with a dedicated new room called The Snug.

The Moor Lane pub is not a new opening, so it should not be counted alongside Seel & Slater or Blank Street. The new space is nevertheless a distinct addition to the wider Merseyside pub scene.

Plans published in September describe a quieter section of Murphy's with custom seating, traditional pub interiors, low lighting and deliberately no music, separating it from the pub's main sports and entertainment space. Food and drinks will be available in the new room. Bond Media Agency

The operator has announced an October opening, but has not published a precise day.

Murphy's Tavern is at 21 Moor Lane, Crosby, L23 2SE.

Flat Iron Liverpool still does not have a confirmed opening date

Flat Iron remains one of the largest restaurant projects being fitted out in Liverpool city centre, but it should not yet be described as an October opening.

The steak restaurant is taking 25 Castle Street, with earlier plans describing a restaurant of around 100 covers centred on the company's signature featherblade steak. Other dishes announced for Liverpool include Wagyu specials, a green chilli cheeseburger, beef-dripping chips, creamed spinach, truffled macaroni cheese and bone-marrow garlic mash. Confidentials

When the Liverpool restaurant was announced in December 2025, the stated target was summer 2026. That timetable has passed.

As of 5 October, Flat Iron's own Liverpool page gives the Castle Street address but says only COMING SOON. No replacement opening date is published. Flat Iron

Until Flat Iron gives a day itself, it belongs in the date-TBC group rather than being turned into an October opening because building work is visible.

1848 Stanley Dock has just been announced for this winter

Another restaurant joined Liverpool's opening pipeline on 5 October, although it is not expected to open this month.

A new 120-seat pizzeria called 1848 Stanley Dock is being developed inside the Grade II-listed Hydraulic Pumphouse and Accumulator Tower beside Titanic Hotel Liverpool.

The project is part of a £1.5 million transformation of the building. Plans include a 4,400 sq ft restaurant, cocktail bar, tall glazed dining extension and waterfront terrace. The restaurant will be operated by Titanic Hotel Liverpool, with Harcourt Developments owning the Stanley Dock site. Liverpool City Region Destination Partnership

The name refers to 1848, the year Stanley Dock opened.

The latest announcement gives a winter 2026 opening rather than an October date. It is included here because the project was formally named and detailed on 5 October, not because it is expected to start serving this month.

It will move into the confirmed openings list once a firm launch date is published.

Other Liverpool restaurants and bars still waiting for dates

Several projects remain too uncertain to put in the October list.

Slater, the cocktail-bar half of Seel & Slater, is scheduled for later in 2026 but has no day yet.

Crossbar at Liverpool ONE also remains date TBC. The 25,000 sq ft football-led venue is planned to include interactive football boxes, a bar and casual dining area, with a full upstairs restaurant called Club 11. It was originally announced for spring 2026, but our tracker still has no confirmed opening day. Pub and Bar

Rather than repeatedly moving speculative dates, those venues will be added to a monthly opening list when the operator or landlord publishes firmer information.

Why some Liverpool openings do not have an exact date

Restaurant and bar launch dates move regularly.

A venue can have its signage installed, staff recruited and social accounts running while still waiting on building work, equipment, licensing, inspections, staff training or final handover.

For this guide, we use three broad positions:

  • Confirmed opening: the business, operator or landlord has published a firm date.
  • Expected: reliable information supports a particular month or season, but there is no firm public day.
  • Date TBC: the premises or project is confirmed, but there is not enough evidence to say when customers will actually be able to enter.

The same three positions apply across the openings and closures tracker, which covers restaurants, cafés, pubs, shops and attractions.

October 2026 opening updates

  • 5 October: 1848 Stanley Dock is announced as the name of the new 120-seat pizzeria being created at Stanley Dock. Opening is scheduled for winter 2026.
  • 5 October: Flat Iron's official Liverpool page still lists the Castle Street restaurant as "coming soon" without an opening date.
  • 5 October: Liverpool ONE continues to list Blank Street Coffee as coming soon without publishing its opening day, despite earlier trade reporting pointing to an October launch.
  • 4 October: Wreck Bistro serves its final service ahead of its rapid conversion into Seel & Slater.
  • 2 October: Bunny Jackson's confirms that Bunny's Kitchen will form part of the new Junkyard Social Club in Liverpool.
  • 9 October: Seel & Slater is scheduled to open at 60 Seel Street.

This section will be extended as dates are announced and venues begin trading.

Shopfront work often appears before an opening announcement does.

If you've spotted a new restaurant, café, pub or bar being fitted out in Liverpool or Merseyside, tell us the venue name and street in the comments. We can check the business, licensing and property information and add it to the openings tracker once there is enough evidence.
