Peter Kavanagh's

Peter Kavanagh's, on Egerton Street off Catharine Street, keeps one of Liverpool's great pub interiors: murals, carved settles and stained glass from a 1929 refit designed by Kavanagh himself, landlord from 1897 to 1950. The building is Grade II listed, ceilings hung with accumulated clutter, and it pours a proper pint.
