Friday 2 October: gaming, theatre and live music

FORMATGG takes over BOXPARK

FORMATGG's tenth-anniversary event runs from 6pm to 11.45pm at BOXPARK Liverpool. The programme combines game studios, exhibitors, a Razer technology zone, esports, creators and cosplay with live performances and DJs.

The gaming programme includes the Coalesce Esports Zone and a South Asian Gaming Zone. Live video-game music, a gaming choir, K-pop dance and a charity cosplay catwalk raising money for Make-A-Wish UK sit alongside the house and techno sets.

It is 18+, with last entry at 10pm. The organiser says BOXPARK's main floors are mobility accessible, but the esports zone is stair-access only. Check the FORMATGG Liverpool programme and tickets on Skiddle.

The Rock Orchestra brings strings and fire to the arena

At M&S Bank Arena, The Rock Orchestra: Arena of Fire gives rock and metal songs to fourteen classical musicians and vocalists. The 90-minute production combines orchestral arrangements with pyrotechnics, fire performers and stage visuals.

The advertised repertoire draws on Metallica, AC/DC, Linkin Park, Guns N' Roses, System of a Down and other rock acts. The arena's dedicated event page gives doors at 6.30pm and the show at 8pm. Under-14s must be accompanied by an adult.

Dirty DC performs AC/DC at Camp and Furnace

In the Baltic Triangle, Dirty DC takes a live-band route through the AC/DC catalogue, covering both the Bon Scott and Brian Johnson eras. Songs advertised include Highway to Hell, Back in Black, Thunderstruck and Whole Lotta Rosie.

The Camp and Furnace listing on Skiddle runs from 7pm to 11pm. It is an 18+ standing show with limited unreserved seating; strobe and flashing-light effects may be used.

Hans Zimmer's film music at St George's Hall

Mystery Ensemble performs a programme based around Hans Zimmer's film music inside St George's Hall. If you want a seated concert rather than a standing rock show, this is Friday's alternative.

The Mystery Ensemble ticket listing gives doors at 6.30pm, performance at 7pm and finish at 8.15pm. The minimum age is six.

Death of a Salesman at the Everyman

The Everyman continues its run of Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman, directed by Tristan Fynn-Aiduenu. The production reframes the Loman family's story through an Afro-centric Scouse setting.

Friday's performance starts at 7.30pm. Saturday has a 2pm matinee and a 7.30pm captioned performance. Tickets are £11 to £41, and the running time is about three hours 15 minutes including the interval.

The theatre lists warnings for mental health and suicide, toxic relationships, mild violence and emotional abuse, as well as haze, vaping and flashing or fluorescent lighting. Read the production's content guidance before booking if any of those affect you.

Saturday 3 October: exhibitions, pop and afternoon clubbing

St Brigid's Arms opens at the Victoria Gallery & Museum

A fictional Irish pub opens inside the Victoria Gallery & Museum on Ashton Street. St Brigid's Arms runs from 3 October 2026 to 17 April 2027, using a recreated pub and family home to tell stories of women of Irish heritage living in the North of England.

The exhibition brings together oral histories, visual art, music, dance and film. Artist and art psychotherapist Lydia O'Hara and Rosarie Walsh of Emerald LENS co-created it following workshops with Irish communities in Liverpool, Manchester and Leeds.

Admission to the museum's galleries and exhibitions is free. Check the museum's opening hours before travelling.

Pussycat Dolls return with Lil' Kim

Pussycat Dolls bring the PCD Forever Tour to M&S Bank Arena, marking 20 years since the group's debut album. Nicole Scherzinger, Kimberly Wyatt and Ashley Roberts are among the returning members, with Lil' Kim and Deja Vu supporting.

The arena listing gives doors at 6pm and the show at 7pm, with standard tickets starting at £65. Under-14s are not permitted on the floor; check the venue's full age and seating conditions for your booking.

ATHX at Exhibition Centre Liverpool

ATHX Liverpool runs next door at Exhibition Centre Liverpool on Saturday and Sunday, from 8am to 6pm. Competitors take on a two-and-a-half-hour continuous fitness event across six zones, testing strength, endurance, power and speed.

There are ATHX, ATHX Pro and ATHX Lite categories, with individual and pairs entries. Check the Exhibition Centre's ATHX page for entry information and heat times.

Second Speed: blk. at Blackstone Street Warehouse

Second Speed: blk. Liverpool runs from 2pm to 11pm at Blackstone Street Warehouse. The line-up includes blk., Ueberrest, Somewhen, So Juice, Black Traffic, Veseli, Lazlo, Circo and OISÍNOK.

Last entry is 4.30pm, so plan this as an afternoon arrival. The Skiddle booking page lists a strict 18+ policy with photographic ID. Bags larger than A4 are not permitted; accessibility and personal-assistant ticket information is on the listing.

The Soundgarden inside Sefton Park Palm House

303 Presents The Soundgarden puts Nick Warren and Danny Howells inside the Palm House, with Samuel Lamont, Subcora and Gustin also on the bill. The event runs from 3pm until midnight.

It is 18+, with last entry at 6pm, according to the Soundgarden ticket page. Our Lark Lane and Sefton Park guide covers the walk from St Michaels station and the area around the park.

Mini Maestros for the under-fives

Mini Maestros gives Saturday morning to children aged 0 to 5. Sessions in the Everyman Street Café combine music, percussion, movement and signing.

The Everyman's booking page lists 10.15am and 11.15am on Saturday, at £10 a session or £36 for a four-week block.

CBeebies at the Empire: sold out

CBeebies Panto: Treasure Island is being recorded at Liverpool Empire on Saturday and Sunday. ATG currently marks the Liverpool run as sold out. Check the Empire's own listing for any legitimate returns.

Letter to Brezhnev at Liverpool's Royal Court

Letter to Brezhnev is running at Liverpool's Royal Court on Roe Street until 17 October. Frank Clarke's story began as the 1985 film about Teresa and Elaine, two young women from Kirkby whose night out changes when they meet two Soviet sailors.

The production brings a story of friendship, escape and 1980s Liverpool onto a local stage. Check the Royal Court's performance calendar and tickets for your chosen day.

Sunday 4 October: vintage clothes, family activities and the Cavern

Clothes Cycle at Camp and Furnace

Clothes Cycle fills Camp and Furnace from 11am to 5pm. The organiser advertises more than 70 vintage sellers, alongside streetwear, archive pieces, £2 bargain sections, a clothes swap, DJs, street food and alterations.

The current Liverpool booking page uses timed entry. The listed 11am VIP ticket is £7.50 plus VAT and a service fee; entry from 4pm is £2 plus VAT and a service fee. Check the checkout total and your entry slot before buying.

Carer tickets are listed as free. The child-ticket description says under-12s go free, but its ticket selector currently shows a charge, so confirm that with the organiser before booking a child's place.

Family Feastival at BOXPARK

Family Feastival runs at BOXPARK Liverpool from 12pm to 4pm. The programme includes children's arts and crafts from noon, mini games, music and a children's quiz at 1pm.

Check the Family Feastival event listing for the day's programme and booking conditions.

Skinny Lister at the Cavern

British folk-punk band Skinny Lister plays the Cavern Club Live Lounge from 7pm to 11pm, celebrating ten years of The Devil, The Heart & The Fight. The band will play the album in full alongside other material.

The Cavern's event page lists tickets at £20. It is an 18+ show, mainly standing with some unreserved seating. You can also check Skinny Lister tickets on Skiddle.

Liverpool Basketball: check the fixture date

The arena's earlier season-ticket announcement advertised Liverpool Basketball's first home game against Manchester for 4 October. However, the dedicated Liverpool v Manchester event page now lists 1 November 2026, with a 4pm tip-off.

Because those venue pages disagree, we have left basketball out of the confirmed weekend timetable. Check the arena's current fixture and ticket details before making a Sunday trip.

Plan your weekend route

  • Friday: choose between gaming and DJs, orchestral rock, Dirty DC, a seated Hans Zimmer programme or the Everyman.
  • Saturday: arrive before the electronic events' last-entry times. Blackstone Street Warehouse, Sefton Park, Hope Street and King's Dock are spread across the city, so allow time between venues.
  • Sunday: Clothes Cycle and Family Feastival are daytime options; Skinny Lister starts at 7pm. Check your market entry slot if you plan more than one stop.

For King's Dock events, our Liverpool waterfront walk follows the route through Pier Head, Royal Albert Dock and the arena area. Check current roadworks before driving, then open the live What's On finder to filter more events by day, free entry or family suitability.
