Bonfire Night falls on Thursday 5 November 2026, but Liverpool's organised fireworks programme stretches across Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Confirmed events so far include two nights at Allerton Manor, Liverpool College's PTA display, a school display in Oxton, and larger events in Bootle, Southport, Prescot and St Helens.

This guide only includes events with fresh 2026 evidence. Old council displays and previous-year dates have not been carried forward simply because they still appear in search results.

Last updated: 5 October 2026. We are adding Liverpool and Merseyside fireworks displays as organisers confirm their 2026 events.

Allerton Manor's Thursday-night event is one of the clearest confirmed options inside Liverpool itself. The programme lists street-food stalls, live family entertainment and fireworks from 7pm, with the site remaining open until 10pm.

There is no separate children's display listed, and the current event page describes the night as an outdoor standing event, so families with very young children may want to factor that into their plans. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. Check the Allerton Manor event and ticket status.

CONFIRMED FOR 2026

Liverpool College's PTA Bonanza returns on the Friday after Bonfire Night. The current 2026 event listing gives a 5pm opening, 7pm last entry and an estimated 7.30pm display.

Before the fireworks there are food and confectionery stalls, a bar, games, entertainment, a raffle and tombola. The organiser also advises bringing some cash because not every stall is expected to accept cards.

The event is based around the sports hall on the upper-school side of the College. The current listing identifies Liverpool College as the organiser and gives tickets from £10.

Fletcher's Firework Party at Allerton Manor, Saturday 7 November

CONFIRMED FOR 2026

Where: Allerton Manor Golf Club, Allerton Road, L18 3JT
Date: Saturday 7 November
Event: 5pm to 10pm
Fireworks: From 7pm
Price: £10 plus booking fee

Allerton Manor has a second 2026 fireworks event on the Saturday, marketed as Fletcher's Firework Party. Fatsoma's current listings show it running from 5pm to 10pm, with the same venue and an £11 total headline price.

The organiser's description lists street food, live entertainment and fireworks from 7pm. It is another outdoor standing event and gives people who cannot attend on Bonfire Night itself a Liverpool option two days later.

Where: Birkenhead School, 58 Beresford Road, Oxton, CH43 2JD
Date: Thursday 5 November

Birkenhead School Parents' Association has an active 2026 ticket page rather than a recycled previous-year listing. Adult and child tickets are already available, and an optional three-channel silent-disco headset can be reserved in advance for £5.50.

The event window is relatively early, finishing at 7.45pm, although the current page does not state the precise time at which the fireworks will be fired. Anyone arranging connections or collecting children afterwards should therefore use the overall event time rather than assuming a display time. Birkenhead School Parents' Association tickets

Wirral Council also has a separate process for community-led bonfire and fireworks events, with its guidance updated in May 2026. A full public list of approved community events has not yet been published for this Bonfire Night period.

Fireworks displays in Sefton

Big Bang 2026 at Lock And Quay, Bootle, Saturday 7 November

CONFIRMED FOR 2026

Where: Lock And Quay, 2 Irlam Road, Bootle, L20 4AH
Date: Saturday 7 November
Event: 4pm to 9pm
Last entry: 6.30pm
Fireworks: Exact firing time not currently published
Parking: No on-site parking
Dogs: Not permitted

Lock And Quay's Big Bang combines a bonfire and fireworks with Viking-themed entertainment and aerial performers. The organiser-added Skiddle listing confirms the date and says the site is accessible, although seating is limited and allocated on a first-come basis.

There is no on-site parking. The venue says it is close to rail and bus connections, so this is an event where public transport may be simpler than driving. Food and drink are available on site, outside food and drink are not permitted, and sparklers cannot be taken into the event.

The weather policy is unusually clear. If conditions force postponement, the organisers say they will try to rearrange within 48 hours, after which ticket holders will be given the option to retain or refund their ticket. Check Big Bang 2026 on Skiddle

Southport RFC Fireworks Extravaganza, Friday 6 November

CONFIRMED FOR 2026 · TICKETS ON SALE

Where: Southport Rugby Football Club, Waterloo Road, Hillside, PR8 4QW
Date: Friday 6 November
Gates: 6pm
Fireworks: Approximately 8pm
Adult: £9
Ages 4 to 15: £6
Family ticket: £28 for two adults and two under-16s
Under-3s: Free

Southport RFC has published considerably more practical detail than most organisers. The display is scheduled for about 8pm after two hours of food and family entertainment, including fairground games, face painting and children's activities.

There is no public parking inside the club grounds. Hillside station is around a five-minute walk away, and the club says the 47 bus stops nearby. Accessible toilets, baby-changing facilities and wheelchair and pram access are available. Low chairs and blankets can be brought in.

Personal fireworks and sparklers, drones, glass bottles and outside alcohol are prohibited. The club says rain alone will not normally stop the display, although safety conditions can still affect the event. Southport RFC's full 2026 event information

Fireworks displays in Knowsley

Prescot & Odyssey CC Fireworks Night, Saturday 7 November

CONFIRMED FOR 2026 · TICKETS ON SALE

Where: Prescot & Odyssey Cricket Club, Burrows Lane, Eccleston, Prescot, L34 6JW
Date: Saturday 7 November
Gates: 5pm

Adult: £10 plus booking fee
Child aged 3 to 17 / 65+: £8 plus booking fee
Family: £25 plus booking fee
Under-3s: Free
Parking: Limited, £10

This is one of the earlier confirmed firing times outside Liverpool itself. The cricket club lists Silcock's Funfair, children's stalls, food vendors, two bars and a DJ before the display.

Families driving should not assume parking is included with entry. Standard and accessible parking are sold separately and spaces are limited. Outside food and drink are not allowed. Tickets are non-refundable but the organiser says they can be transferred to another person. Prescot & Odyssey CC tickets and event details

Fireworks displays in St Helens

From The Ground Comes Light at BrewDog Stadium, Thursday 5 November

CONFIRMED FOR 2026 · TICKETS ON SALE

Where: BrewDog Stadium, McManus Drive, St Helens, WA9 3AL
Date: Thursday 5 November

Child aged 12 and under: £10

St Helens RFC's stadium event is structured as a full evening rather than simply a firework display. Its 2026 programme includes live performers, a samba band, Saints Angels cheerleaders, a light circus, Silcock's Fun Fair, a children's disco and face painting before the fireworks and light-show finale.

The stadium is cashless. No event parking is available on site, although the club says St Helens Council car parks will be available free that evening. Accessible tickets and the small allocation of accessible parking have to be arranged through the ticket office.

St Helens Central is around a ten-minute walk from the stadium, with direct rail services from Liverpool. St Helens RFC's 2026 fireworks information and tickets

Which displays are easier with children?

The earliest published firing times currently belong to Allerton Manor and Fletcher's Firework Party, both from 7pm, followed by Prescot & Odyssey at approximately 7pm to 7.30pm. Liverpool College estimates its display at 7.30pm, while Southport RFC fires at about 8pm.

For a longer evening with activities before the display, Prescot has a funfair and DJ, St Helens has fairground rides, live entertainment and a children's disco, and Southport has children's entertainment and fairground games. Those differences are more useful than simply labelling one event the "best".

For ticket cost, Birkenhead School currently starts at £6 for children and £9 for adults. Prescot's £25 family ticket before its booking fee is currently lower than Southport RFC's £28 family ticket, although the age definitions differ.

Are there any free fireworks displays in Liverpool in 2026?

As of 5 October 2026, this guide does not yet have a confirmed free organised fireworks display in Liverpool or the main Merseyside areas.

Do not confuse River of Light with a Bonfire Night display. Liverpool's free light trail runs from 23 October to 1 November, but the organisers explicitly state that there are no fireworks as part of the event. See L1Local's River of Light 2026 guide

This section will need revisiting later in October, particularly when community events on the Wirral are confirmed.

Fireworks displays awaiting 2026 confirmation

2026 DETAILS AWAITED

West Kirby Sailing Club currently has Saturday 7 November pencilled into its club calendar for fireworks, according to current Wirral reporting, but the date is marked TBC and there is not yet a full public 2026 announcement covering time, entry or arrangements. It therefore stays outside the confirmed table.

Northwest Fireworks near Formby indicated after its 2025 event that it intended to return on Saturday 7 November 2026, but a complete current event announcement with ticketing, timings and visitor information has not yet been verified. It should not move into the confirmed list until those details appear.

Halton Borough Council ran a Silver Jubilee Bridge fireworks event in 2025, but no corresponding 2026 announcement has been verified for this guide. Last year's date should not be reused as a 2026 listing.

When is Bonfire Night 2026?

Bonfire Night is Thursday 5 November 2026.

That is only one part of this year's local programme. Allerton Manor, Birkenhead School and St Helens RFC currently have events on the Thursday itself. Liverpool College and Southport RFC follow on Friday 6 November, while Allerton Manor, Bootle and Prescot have events on Saturday 7 November.

Getting to Liverpool fireworks displays

There is a transport complication this year.

Merseyrail has major Northern Line engineering work scheduled from Sunday 11 October through Friday 6 November 2026. From Monday to Saturday during the works, replacement buses are due to operate between Hunts Cross and Moorfields while trains continue between Liverpool Central and Southport, Ormskirk and Headbolt Lane. Normal services are scheduled to return on Saturday 7 November. Check Merseyrail's engineering-work information before travelling

That is particularly relevant to people travelling from south Liverpool on Thursday 5 or Friday 6 November. Southport passengers can still use trains between Liverpool Central and Southport, but anyone connecting from the Hunts Cross side should allow extra time.

By Saturday 7 November, Merseyrail currently expects normal services to have resumed. Recheck the journey planner during Bonfire Night week rather than relying on the October timetable. For a wider look at getting around without a car, see our guide to getting around Liverpool without a car.

What happens if it rains?

Rain does not automatically cancel a professional fireworks display. Wind strength, visibility and wider site conditions are generally more important to the final safety decision.

Southport RFC explicitly says its event is expected to continue in wet weather, subject to safety considerations. Lock And Quay has already published a postponement and refund process if adverse weather prevents its event.

A meaningful Bonfire Night forecast is not available this far in advance. This guide should be updated with the short-range forecast and any organiser announcements during 2 to 5 November.

What if your first-choice display sells out?

There are already alternatives on each of the main nights. On Thursday 5 November the confirmed choices include Allerton Manor, Birkenhead School and BrewDog Stadium in St Helens. Friday 6 November currently has Liverpool College and Southport RFC. Saturday 7 November has Fletcher's Firework Party, Lock And Quay and Prescot & Odyssey.

Check availability before setting off. Previous sell-outs do not prove a 2026 event will sell out, but St Helens RFC specifically warns that its stadium event has reached capacity in previous years and advises advance booking.

Fireworks and bonfires in Liverpool parks

Do not assume that a public park is a legitimate place to set off fireworks simply because it has hosted events in the past.

Liverpool City Council says bonfires and fireworks are not permitted in its parks except for organised displays that are appropriately licensed and approved through the Safety Advisory Group. The council also notes that the law prohibits setting off or throwing fireworks in streets and other public places. Liverpool City Council's rules for fireworks in parks For more on the city's green spaces, see our Liverpool parks guide.

Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service advises people to think carefully before running a home display. Its current guidance includes keeping fireworks boxed until use, supervising children, keeping pets indoors, not returning to a lit firework and not giving sparklers to children under five. Liverpool fireworks 2026 FAQ

Where are the fireworks in Liverpool in 2026?

Inside Liverpool itself, confirmed events currently include Allerton Manor on Thursday 5 November, Liverpool College on Friday 6 November and Fletcher's Firework Party at Allerton Manor on Saturday 7 November. More events are expected to be announced during October.

What time do Liverpool fireworks start?

Allerton Manor and Fletcher's Firework Party currently list fireworks from 7pm. Liverpool College estimates its display at 7.30pm. Times differ at events elsewhere in Merseyside, so check the table before travelling.

Are there free fireworks displays in Liverpool?

No free organised Liverpool display has yet been confirmed for this guide as of 5 October 2026. That may change as community events are announced.

Are the displays suitable for children?

Most of the confirmed events describe themselves as family events or include children's activities. Published firing times currently range from around 7pm to 8pm. Check individual rules if bringing very young children, particularly for standing events.

Do I need tickets?

Most confirmed events are ticketed. Do not assume you can pay at the gate. Southport RFC says a limited number may be available on the night subject to capacity, while other organisers direct visitors to advance booking.

Can I take my dog?

Check each organiser's rules, but a fireworks event is generally a poor environment for dogs because of the noise and crowds. Lock And Quay and Southport RFC specifically say dogs are not permitted.

What happens if an event is cancelled?

Check the organiser or ticket provider before leaving home. Weather and safety decisions can be made close to the event. Refund and postponement rules vary by organiser.
