Disney Dream returns to Liverpool on Wednesday 9 September 2026, with music at the Pier Head from approximately 6pm and a short farewell on the Mersey around 7pm. A brief fireworks finale is planned, weather permitting.

Liverpool Cruise Port is organising the gathering with support from Culture Liverpool. Residents and visitors are invited to watch from the waterfront, but the ship will not be open to the public.

Disney Dream departure times

The council's announcement, published on 4 September, gives a departure time of 7pm. Culture Liverpool's more detailed guidance distinguishes between leaving the berth and the farewell in the river:

  • Approximately 6pm: music begins at the Pier Head.
  • 6.45pm: Disney Dream is scheduled to leave its berth.
  • Around 7pm: the ship holds position in mid-river beside the Pier Head for the sail-away celebration before continuing its journey.

For anyone coming specifically to see the departure, aim to be in position before 6.45pm. The fireworks remain dependent on the weather.

Watch from the Pier Head

Organisers recommend the Pier Head for this visit. The ship will move into the river directly in front of the waterfront gathering, giving spectators a view of the farewell.

Culture Liverpool's event FAQs flag roadworks on Princes Parade and temporary road restrictions around the cruise terminal. Follow signs and stewards' directions on the evening.

The gathering is free and open to children and adults. It is a brief waterfront event, with no public boarding or ship tours.

Disney Dream will also be berthed in Liverpool during the day. For other arrivals this month, see L1Local's September cruise ship schedule.

Getting there and facilities

James Street is the nearest Merseyrail station for the Pier Head. Merseyrail's station information lists step-free access through the James Street entrance, with lifts to the platforms. Check services and lift availability before travelling.

Viewing is along the Pier Head. The organiser's guidance does not identify a separate reserved accessible viewing area.

Temporary toilets will not be provided on the Pier Head. The council says stewards can direct visitors to nearby facilities; Culture Liverpool's FAQs also list toilets at the cruise terminal. Ask a steward for directions and access information when you arrive.

Check the official event guidance again on Wednesday for any changes to timings or arrangements.
