Eating out on Christmas Day is not cheap, but there is a considerable difference between restaurants. The Endbutt in Crosby and Willow Bank on Smithdown Road both advertise four courses at £54.99 per adult. Hillfoot in Hunts Cross charges £60.99 for three courses, while hotels in the city centre can charge well over £100 a head.
We've compared 19 venues with published Christmas Day 2026 menus or prices across Liverpool, Sefton and Wirral. The prices below are the venues' advertised rates, not a confirmation that tables remain available. Children's menus, deposits and payment deadlines differ, and drinks or optional service charges may add to the final bill.
These are advertised meal prices rather than guaranteed final totals or confirmed vacancies. A "from" price may not apply to every menu choice. Ask about age limits, dietary requirements, supplements, booking fees, deposits and cancellation terms before paying. Malmaison's current Christmas Day places are restricted to guests booking its Christmas stay package.
Christmas dinner for less than £75 per adult
The Endbutt and Willow Bank: £54.99
The lowest adult prices we confirmed were at The Endbutt in Crosby, on Endbutt Lane, and Willow Bank on Smithdown Road. Both advertise a four-course Christmas Day menu for £54.99, including traditional roast options and meat-free choices.
The Endbutt lists a £10-per-person deposit for both adults and children. Willow Bank lists £10 per adult and £5 per child. Their sites also contain differing wording about when the remaining balance is due, so check the full payment deadline with the pub before reserving.
Hillfoot and Halfway House: £60.99–£62.99
Hillfoot in Hunts Cross charges £60.99 per adult and £30.49 per child. Halfway House on Woolton Road charges £62.99 and £31.49 respectively. Both advertise three courses, with festive turkey or slow-cooked beef among the mains.
For families comparing fixed-price meals, these have some of the clearest published children's prices towards the cheaper end of the list.
Gravesberie Inn, Wirral: £66
At the Gravesberie Inn in Greasby, the adult three-course menu costs £66. Choices include hand-carved turkey, seafood and meat-free dishes. The venue publishes a separate children's Christmas menu, but a specific children's price was not stated on the venue's Christmas Day page.
Black Bull, The Richmond and Hare and Hounds: £68.95
The three-course menus include choices such as hand-carved roast beef and grilled salmon, as well as festive roast combinations. Check each pub's booking terms rather than assuming conditions are identical.
Harvester Aintree Park and Vikings Landing: £72.99–£74.99
Harvester Aintree Park publishes £72.99 for adults and £36.49 for children. The Christmas Day menu includes hand-carved turkey, a pork dish and a mushroom suet pudding option.
Vikings Landing on Sugarbrook Drive in Stonebridge advertises three courses for £74.99, with roast turkey, minted lamb shank and a spinach and butternut squash tart among the choices. Confirm its children's rate directly before comparing family costs.

Christmas Day restaurants with alternatives to a traditional roast
Izgara, Allerton: £80 per adult
Izgara on Mather Avenue offers three courses for £80 per adult or £40 per child under 12. Alongside turkey, beef, gammon, chicken and lamb shank Christmas dinners, it lists chicken and lamb shish kebabs, teriyaki salmon and a vegetarian halloumi casserole.
The restaurant advertises three sittings: noon–2.15pm, 2.30–4.45pm and 5–7.30pm. Christmas Day reservations are by telephone only, on 0151 394 4479. Its usual à la carte menu will not be served on Christmas Day.
51 Italian, Old Hall Street: £89.95
51 Italian in the Commercial Quarter publishes a Christmas Day price of £89.95 for adults and £39.95 for children. Its menu covers turkey alongside Italian alternatives including fillet steak medallions and lobster ravioli.
The restaurant also publishes separate, cheaper festive party menus for earlier dates, so make sure you select the Christmas Day menu rather than the standard festive offer.
Elian Bar & Kitchen, Crosby: £95 or £105
At Elian Bar & Kitchen on Liverpool Road, Crosby, the price depends on the sitting: £95 per adult at noon or £105 at 3pm. The young guest menu costs £49. The meal includes three courses, canapés and a glass of fizz on arrival. Roast turkey, beef, gammon, chicken and vegetarian Wellington are listed among the mains.
Elian asks guests to specify their preferred sitting when booking. Contact the restaurant on 0151 404 3499 to confirm places and conditions.
Miller & Carter Otterspool, Gino D'Acampo and Browns: from £99.95
Miller & Carter Otterspool advertises a Christmas Day menu from £99.95, with a young guest menu from £47.95 for children aged 12 or under. Turkey paupiette, duck and surf-and-turf options appear on the menu. A £10-per-person deposit applies to tables from 11.30am, and the venue says pre-orders and full payment are due by 1 December.
At Gino D'Acampo on Old Hall Street, the Christmas Day booking experience lists £100 per adult and £45 per child. The three-course Italian meal includes Champagne and a canapé on arrival for adults. The booking listing specifies a £50 adult deposit, £25 child deposit, a 2½-hour table allocation and advance meal choices.
Browns Liverpool advertises five courses from £105 per adult. Its published description includes an opening bite, starter, main, dessert and hot drinks with sweet treats. Check the restaurant's menu for child prices and any supplements before booking.
Christmas Day hotel lunches in Liverpool city centre
Malmaison, Princes Dock: £129, but currently tied to a hotel stay
Chez Mal at Malmaison Liverpool advertises Christmas Day lunch at £129 per adult, including a glass of Champagne. The published children's price is £66 for ages five to 12, with under-fives listed as free.
Important booking restriction: the hotel currently says its remaining Christmas Day places are available only as part of a Christmas stay package, with an early sitting at noon. Do not assume the £129 meal can be booked on its own. Ask the hotel about the full stay-package price and availability before making plans.
The Shankly Hotel, Victoria Street: £139.95
The Shankly Hotel's Christmas Day event costs £139.95 per adult and £99 per child. Doors open at 1.30pm, with dinner served at 2.30pm, plus entertainment and a Santa visit.
This is a hosted Christmas event rather than just a restaurant table. Tables seat 10 and smaller groups will share. Tickets are described as non-refundable and non-transferable, while dietary details and pre-orders must arrive at least seven days beforehand. The venue lists 0151 459 3383 for reservations.
Its published 2026 menu includes turkey paupiette, beef fillet or wild mushroom and ricotta pithivier as main-course choices. The sittings are 12.30pm, 1pm, 1.30pm and 2pm. A £20-per-person deposit is required, with full payment and pre-orders by 1 December. The hotel states that the deposit and prepayment are non-refundable. An optional 12.5% service charge is added to the bill and can be removed on request.

Two adults and two children
Hillfoot

These examples exclude drinks, optional service charges, extras and any booking fees. Child-menu age limits matter: Izgara specifies under-12s, Miller & Carter says 12 and under, and Malmaison's £66 children's rate applies to ages five to 12. If your children are older, the adult rate may apply. The Malmaison figure is not the cost of the required hotel stay package.
Want a cheaper festive dinner before Christmas Day?
A Christmas meal during November or December generally costs much less than eating out on 25 December. These are separate festive menus and should not be treated as Christmas Day prices.
The event runs 10am–noon at 49A Victoria Street and advertises £30 adult and £30 child tickets, with a meal included for each guest. Children's tickets also include a drink, toy and colouring set. This is not a Christmas Day roast dinner. Check any booking fees at checkout. These links go directly to Skiddle.
What to check before paying a Christmas Day deposit
Confirm the total price. Ask whether the advertised figure covers all courses, any welcome drinks and the children's meal. Steaks, seafood, additional sides or upgraded dishes can carry supplements.
Check when payment is due. Miller & Carter and Seaforth publish 1 December as a full-payment and pre-order deadline. The Greene King pub pages contain differing payment wording between their promotional text and booking conditions, so get the pub's confirmation in writing.
Ask about cancellation terms. Christmas Day deposits may be non-refundable after a particular date. The Shankly says its event tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable, while Seaforth describes both its deposit and prepayment as non-refundable.
Check dietary requirements early. A vegetarian option does not automatically mean a meal is vegan or suitable for someone with an allergy. Venues may need advance menu choices or separate arrangements for coeliac and other dietary requirements.
Arrange your journey. Don't rely on an ordinary Friday public-transport timetable for 25 December. Check the latest Christmas service notices from Merseytravel and any taxi arrangements before booking a sitting.
