Halloween Events in Liverpool 2026 for Adults: Scare Nights, Parties & After-Dark Events
Adult Halloween events in Liverpool for 2026, including Newsham Scream Park, Farmaggedon, Spooky Speke, Everyman shows and Halloween-night parties with prices.
On Saturday 31 October you can be chased through a former Victorian hospital, walk a torchlit tour of Speke Hall after dark, or dance until four in the morning in a warehouse. This guide covers the scares, the date nights and the parties for adults in Liverpool this October, with prices, age limits and an honest rating for each.
Prices and availability were checked on 4 October 2026.

For a Liverpool-based scare attraction, Newsham Scream Park is the obvious starting point.
The event uses the former Newsham Park Hospital off Orphan Drive. Its 2026 programme has four named horror experiences: SpecimenZ, Waxworks, Cut Throat Lane and The Hellfire Club.
The live calendar lists selected nights from 3 to 31 October, with standard admission advertised at £32 plus booking fees. The main event is designed for people aged 14 and over. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The organiser warns visitors to expect complete darkness, narrow tunnels, stairs, flashing effects, fog, sudden noise and claustrophobic environments. Cut Throat Lane specifically uses blindfolding.
Farmaggedon is outside Liverpool in Downholland, near Ormskirk, but it competes directly with Newsham for Merseyside groups.
There are five scare attractions in 2026: The Facility, Meat Locker, Beast of Terror, Hellucination and Maze of Death. Original Fear tickets start at £25 and cover four attractions, with higher tiers adding The Facility or queue-jump access.
Farmaggedon is strictly 16+. Under-16s are not admitted, even with an adult. The site also has live music, DJs, street entertainment, food and bars.
The main drawback is travel. Farmaggedon is at Farmer Ted's Adventure Farm, Flatman's Lane, Downholland, L39 7HW. Parking is included, but the nearest rail stations are several miles away.

Spooky Speke: torchlight inside Speke Hall

Spooky Speke replaces mazes with a torchlight tour through Speke Hall and stories about its former inhabitants.
The National Trust lists sessions on 9, 14, 16 and 29 October at 5.45pm and 7.15pm. Tickets are £19.50 and the event is 18+.
The tour lasts about an hour, includes the first floor of the house and takes place mostly in darkness. Visitors are advised to wear flat shoes and bring a small torch.

Ghosts & Spirits at the Everyman
Ghosts & Spirits takes place downstairs at the Everyman on Friday 23 October from 7.30pm to 11pm.
Three ghost stories are paired with cocktails, with mocktails available if requested after booking. Tickets are £32 and the event is 15+.
This is one of the strongest Halloween date-night options for people who want atmosphere without spending an hour inside a live-actor maze.

Everyman Halloween Murder Mystery

It is a comedy and parody rather than a scare attraction, built around a paranormal investigation at a fictional Liverpool theatre. Tickets are £42, the running time is around two and a half hours, and pie and mash is included. The age guidance is 12+.

Contained Liverpool: new 2026 maze announced, details still to come
Contained Liverpool on Derby Road in Bootle says a brand-new live-actor Halloween maze will return in October 2026.
Its Halloween page warns about adult themes, strong language, loud noises, smoke, strobe effects and unpleasant smells. As of 4 October, however, it does not publish the seasonal maze's dates, ticket price or age restriction.
Contained's year-round SNATCHED experience is already bookable. It is 15+, uses a live actor and is rated 5/5 for scares by the venue.
Scare level for the seasonal maze: provisional Very Scary.

Halloween night: Saturday 31 October
Halloween falls on a Saturday in 2026, and the confirmed nightlife programme is already substantial.
Circus Halloween runs at Blackstone Street Warehouse from 2pm to 11pm with East End Dubs confirmed. It is 18+.
Bingo Lingo: Halloween House of Horrors runs at Camp and Furnace from 6.30pm to 11pm. It is 18+, with standard final-release entry listed at £18 plus booking fee when checked.
Black Parade brings 2000s emo and pop-punk to O2 Academy2 from 11pm to 3am. It is 18+.
Static Halloween runs at Hangar 34 from 10pm to 4am with Mandidextrous, DJ Hybrid, VXRGO and KAYA FYAH. It is 18+.
Paradisco takes over Sefton Park Palm House from 7pm to midnight. It is 21+ and was on a waiting list when checked.
BaBOOshka runs at the Kazimier Garden from 2pm to 2am across three spaces. Entry is currently listed as free with a ticket. It is 18+.
For something without a Halloween club theme, The Coral play O2 Academy Liverpool on the 31st, with Ticketmaster showing low availability when checked.
Halloween in Concert starts at 7.30pm at The Auditorium, with songs including Thriller, The Time Warp and Bat Out of Hell. Tickets start at £35.45 including the listed fees.
For couples: cocktails, ghost stories and murder mystery
Ghosts & Spirits is the easiest option if you want drinks and atmosphere without a physical scare attraction. The murder mystery gives you an activity and food in one booking. Spooky Speke is darker and more atmospheric, but involves prolonged walking, stairs and very low light.
If both of you actively enjoy horror, Newsham is the stronger Liverpool choice.
For a group of mates: scare park or club night
Groups that want horror to be the main event should choose between Newsham and Farmaggedon.
Newsham keeps you in Liverpool and uses a real Victorian former hospital. Farmaggedon has more separate attractions and a larger scream-park format, but needs more travel planning.
For a group that mainly wants costumes, drinks and music, choose by genre instead: Circus for house, Static for drum and bass, Black Parade for emo, Paradisco for disco, or BaBOOshka for a free-entry multi-room party.
Which experience is scariest?
Newsham is the stronger choice for people who hate darkness, confinement and losing visual control. Its warnings include complete darkness, narrow spaces, blindfolding and sudden noises.
Farmaggedon is the stronger choice for people who find a larger, longer scream-park environment harder to handle.
Contained's returning Halloween maze may belong in the same category, but the organiser has not yet published enough 2026 information to rank it properly.
Halloween events that are not scare attractions
Ghosts & Spirits, the Everyman murder mystery, Halloween in Concert and most of the 31 October club nights are Halloween-themed without being walkthrough scare attractions.
That also makes them easier for mixed groups where one person wants Halloween and another has absolutely no intention of being chased down a dark corridor.
Getting home on Halloween night
The biggest transport issue is already confirmed.
Network Rail's 26-day tunnel project means there will be no Merseyrail Northern Line trains between Hunts Cross and Liverpool Central from 11 October to 6 November. On Saturday 31 October, replacement buses are scheduled between Hunts Cross and Moorfields, while trains from Southport, Ormskirk and Headbolt Lane continue to Liverpool Central.
L1Local has a full Merseyrail closure guide with affected stations and replacement-bus arrangements.
The N1 night bus is another option for some journeys, running into the early hours between Birkenhead and Allerton via Liverpool city centre.
What are the best adult Halloween events in Liverpool in 2026?
For full scare attractions, Newsham Scream Park and Farmaggedon are the two main choices. For a date night, Ghosts & Spirits and the Everyman murder mystery are easier options. Halloween night itself has club events including Circus, Black Parade, Static, Paradisco and BaBOOshka.
Is Newsham Scream Park adults only?
No. The main event is 14+, but under-18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
How old do you have to be for Farmaggedon?
Farmaggedon is strictly 16+.
Is Spooky Speke 16+ or 18+?
The current National Trust listing says 18+.
Are there Halloween events for people who do not like scare mazes?
Yes. Ghosts & Spirits, the Everyman murder mystery, Halloween in Concert, The Coral and most Halloween-night parties do not involve walkthrough scare mazes.
